In Kherson is an international tournament of the name I. Kulik

Each year in the premises of the High School of Physical Education (at st.Chekistov, 2a) competitions in freestyle wrestling. And today, November 9, opened the annual International wrestling tournament memory of  Hero of the Soviet Union Ilya Kulik.
The tournament boys and girls are such countries as Azerbaijan, Poland, Canada, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and in particular the team of the city of Kherson. Competitions are held with the support of Management of  Family Youth and Sports  of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Kherson Regional Wrestling Federation. Also, the event is supported by the Foundation Ustin Maltsev, Head of  Antonovsky  village council Antonovsky Igor Semenchev, advertising agency "Light Inform", etc.
We wish the athletes good results and new victories!

Note. Ilya Kulik - Head of Kherson underground youth organization "Patriot of the Motherland." Born on August 2, 1924 in Kherson. He is an Ukrainian. In 1941 he graduated 10 classes of the 27th secondary school in Kherson.
 Decree of the Presidium of the USSR on May 8, 1965 for meritorious service, courage and heroism in the fight against the Nazis during World War II, Ilia Kulik Alexandrovich posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev revives the tradition of sports!

   February 11, 2012 in Kherson High School of Physical Education was held the tournament in freestyle wrestling among boys and girls of the youngest age group (born in 1997-1999). This sport event was called "Our Hope" and has not been in Kherson for 5 years, because the necessary funding was absent. But this year the tradition was renewed with the support of the charity fund of Ustin Maltsev and municipal federation of freestyle wrestling. Thus, now the tournament is called "Our hopes for the prizes of fund of Ustin Maltsev"!
   The tournament brought together athletes from Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporozhe, Krasnoperekopsk, Krivoy Rog, Skadovsk, urban-type settlement Big Aleksandrovka, urban-type settlement Casatskoe and villages Veseloe and Yuzhnoe. 123 participants, in the literal sense of the word, fought for the prizes: diplomas and statuettes of Champions! Participants competed in different weight categories: boys 29 kg - over 73 kg, girls 34 kg - 62 kg.

   The Chief Judge was Alexander Gilin, Judge of the International category:
   - We have the only region in Ukraine that has four judges of international category! This shows the great potential of the sport. At this moment, Kherson region is one of the leaders on the number of athletes, who are engaged in freestyle wrestling.
   Also, to support young wrestlers came Malomuzh Alexander, the member of City Council. His past was closely connected with sport. He graduated from Nikolaev State Institute as "a teacher of physical culture", worked as a coach and teacher of FSC "Locomotive".
   It must be noted, that even fragile girls are involved in this sport. They believe, that this can give them confidence and will help in dangerous situations. Every year more and more girls go in for this sport - freestyle wrestling.
   Ustin Maltsev, head of the Charity Fund and organizer of this sport event has been very pleased with this event:
   - I am glad, that today children have desires. Sport and health are very important for them! What they better will go to the gym, and will not drink beer and smoke. This tournament is very necessary, as it is uniting not only the children from cities, but also from villages. It helps for young sportsmen to show themselves and what they can... Sports and children's health today - is the key to a healthy Ukrainian nation after 20 years!
   Also head of the Charity Fund expressed thanks to the young athletes and wished them good luck: "Being the first - the only worthy goal!"
