The national operators of the outdoor advertising joined to rescue of the Kherson boy

1
   For nearly two years is a fight for life of 13-year-old boy Maxim Nalivkin from Kherson. Recall that the boy spent five months in a coma, underwent eight operated bedsores. Now Max needs a complex rehabilitation therapy in a German clinic, which costs 107 528 euros.
   Not only ordinary people but also companies and organizations transfer money for treatment of the boy. But Max and his parents needed not only financial assistance but also an information support.

2
   For example, a charity project to raise funds to help Maxim Nalivkin supported national operators of outdoor advertising. At the period of 3-6 months of "RTM-Ukraine", "Octagon", "Star" are ready to provide its services to accommodate the information on big boards on the territory of Ukraine.
   - This support is valuable because it allows more people to know about the trouble of Kherson boy. The sum of the full course of rehabilitation is very high, and help only citizens of Kherson and region is not enough. Thanks to our colleagues philanthropists more Ukrainians will be able to help the boy and give him a chance at a happy life! - said Ustin Maltsev, head of the Charity Fund.

The heart of little Ukrainian Kostya Danko saved!

1   The world is not without good people! In this you can sure, when the joint efforts saved child's life. Kostya Danko - 8-year-old boy from the Kherson region, from birth suffered from heart disease. In May 2011, on planned survey, was diagnosed with atrial septal defect. The whole trouble lay in the fact that this issue can be resolved once and for all, but it is costs 5 000 euros. It's impossibly high sum for ordinary people from a small village Hromovka, Kherson region.
   For operation need to buy the apparatus, Occluder (Amplacer), which will eliminate all problems, closes a hole in boy's heart and give a chance to little Ukrainian boy to live a healthy and fulfilling lives.
   It was then Kostya's parents appealed to the Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev for help and support. Joint efforts of residents and businesses of Kherson and Kherson region, Ukraine and Russia for 31st of December, 2011 on the operation for Kostya Danko were collected 5000 Euros! Philanthropists visited "Malyutka" house in Kherson

1
   Charity Event "Be Santa Claus and Snow girl for orphans" continues. Every day in the office of the Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev Kherson residents bring a lot of toys, books and clothes for little children, who are deprived of parental love and care. Thanks to the kindhearted Khersons, orphans from three orphanages were able to experience the magic of the New Year. Indeed, for many children this is the first holiday that they meet, surrounded by loving and caring people.
   December 27, 2011 in Kherson Regional orphanage for children with CNS "Malyutka" (little baby) was visited by representatives of Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev, who have passed books, toys, clothing for children. In this institution there are children from 0 to 4 years. Total brought up there about 80 children. It is impossible not to note the work of educators from orphanage. No one child does not feel deprived of love and care. It is also significant that the orphanage «Malyutka» is in very good condition. In the classrooms are warm, light, clean - not every boarding school boasts such terms.
2
   - Prior to joining the orphanage «Malyutka», I even couldn't imagine that in Kherson there are so many good people. The most interesting is that the support comes from middle-class people, who are, in fact, himself would not prevent financial aid - summed Lukina Natalia, a pediatrician in Kherson Regional orphanage.
   On the fate of our children are concerned not only Ukrainians, but also Italians. One family from Italy wants to adopt a girl from the orphanage "Malyutka". Throughout the matinee they did not let the baby out of hand. We hope that in the near future spouses Italians are lucky and they will be able to take the baby to him. This means that one child will have happy childhood and a brighter future.
   It is a pity that in Ukraine there is a terrible statistic: adopt only 25-30% of orphaned children. The rest of the children have to wait for love and caring from strangers. It's very good, that people still have good hearts!

Foundation of Ustin Maltsev congratulated orphans with New Year Holiday

1
   December 23, 2011 in Tsyurupynsk specialized boarding school I-II stages of the Kherson Regional Council held a special event. For younger students the teacher and the school organized a Christmas party. Also on the festival was invited Ustin Maltsev, who was the third consecutive year, has been actively involved in spiritual and physical development of children, and improving the facilities of boarding school.
   At such feasts especially strongly understand kindness and sincerity of the human heart, unselfishness intentions and depth of inner world. A good example of this was the dedication of teachers and educators from Tsyurupynsk specialized boarding school for children with mental disabilities. From early morning to late at night they take care of orphans, for whom boarding school replaced home, and teachers and other children - a family.
   Ustin Maltsev and his representatives of the Fund did not come empty-handed. In big bags they were carrying gifts that were collected during the campaign "Be Santa Claus and Snow Maiden for orphans". Thanks to the good hearts of Khersons, in the boarding school was given a lot of toys, books, designers and items of children's art (paints, pencils, albums and plasticine) and clothing.
2
   - The program of collecting items for orphans won't be a permanent project of the foundation. We will engage in cooperation, not only ordinary citizens, but also business representatives to gather the necessary and more important things for children to boarding school - said Ustin Maltsev, head and founder of the Charity Foundation.
   Despite the fact that Tsyurupinsk boarding school was founded only in 2008, but it has already gained the attention of philanthropists and social organizations. In September 2011 this school was visited by philanthropists from Italy, which together with the Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev opened children's sports and play yard. Last year, pleased visit of student-volunteers from America, who have made for their money repairs in the school library and gave a lot of books for children.
   The problem of abandonment of children has long been a hot topic. No need to turn a blind eye. That would change the existing system need to start doing something. The main thing in this case - the desire. And when there is desire, no barriers will not stop you on your way! Be kinder to others, and the world will be kinder to you!

Philanthropists donated equipment in Kherson Regional Children's Hospital on 7600 Euro

1

   December 21, 2011 was presentation of medical diagnostic equipment for the Kherson Regional Children's Hospital in the name of the company "DANONE" and Charitable Fund of Ustin Maltsev. The device of daily monitoring of the electrocardiogram (ECG) by Holter was transferred, which was purchased with money, which were collected by participants of the second charity marathon "Run with faith in heart", which took place on September 24, 2011. On this charity event has raised over 7600 Euro, which in 600 Euro more than in 2010.
   This device allows recording ECG during the day. On the patient's chest place the disposable electrodes. These are connected with kardioregistrator, which is fastened on the belt. Dimensions of this device are 5x8 cm, weight 150 g, which does not cause of discomfort to person. This device is particularly useful because it can read at any distance. According Pokachalova Alla, chairman of the Department of functional diagnostics, the child can do usual things, while the device will do its job. This device is convenient because you can read the ECG with children who cannot move independently.
   Previously, there was only one Holter monitoring instrument in HRCKH that created the queue. Now the two devices enable timely research youngest patients, hence - prevent death.
Heart disease among children and adolescents has long been a sore point. We learn that the heart of small Ukrainians has stopped, only when it is illuminated by the workers of mass-media. Usually it happens, as journalists shows, on the lessons of physical education. In fact, the situation is much more difficult! Every year in the Kherson region due to heart disease die about 10 children. It was only 1-2 incident on the lessons of physical culture. As said Tamila Kozina, a cardiologist at HRCKH, the causes of such diseases is the number of factors:

- A sedentary lifestyle;
- Improper diet;
- The ecological situation in the country;
- Bad habits (smoking, alcohol);
- Heredity, and others.

   Kherson Children's cardio-rheumatological center - the only place where provides outpatient and inpatient care for children with all kinds of heart disease and all rheumatic diseases. This suggests that the institution provides treatment for children not only from Kherson, but also from Kherson region!
   - I want to thank to all Khersons, who took part in the charity event "Run with the faith in heart". Only thanks to them we were able to pass the necessary equipment in HODKB ... This is one more victory for our society, for children, who have heart problems, and for me. This is not the last project, which aims at protecting children's health. In the future, we will conquer new heights, because healthy children - our future!

Philanthropists from Kherson Region took part in the congress of benefactors of Ukraine

1   In the House of Teachers December 15, 2011 hosted the Second National Congress "Charitable Ukraine".
  This event is traditionally held between two large charitable dates - Day of Charity and Day of St. Nicholas. Representatives from various organizations and charitable foundations, businesses, not indifferent to the charity, community leaders came together to develop solutions that stimulated the development of philanthropy in Ukraine. The congress was attended by Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the International Charitable Fund "Ukraine 3000" Ekaterina Yushchenko, President of the Foundation "Society" Friends of the Children" Marina Krysa, director of the Donetsk Charitable Foundation "Kindness" Yakov Rogalin, entrepreneur and philanthropist Margaret Sichkar, social activist and Head of Kherson Charity Fund Ustin Maltsev and others. In general, this event brought together nearly 150 philanthropists from all over Ukraine.
   In the first part of the Congress held a public debate "Philanthropy 2011: results, trends and challenges". It consisted of three thematic blocks - "Philanthropy and the State", "Philanthropy and the Media", "Philanthropy and Society". Rate the information and develop a common position should have been three main experts - President of the Association of philanthropists Alexander Maksymchuk, Director of Institute of Mass Information Victoria Syumar and president of western Ukrainian resource center Vasiliy Poluyko. The moderator of the event was well-known leader and media expert, member of the Media Council of the National contest "Philanthropist of the Year" Andrew Kulikov.
   In each block, the first word was provided to the speakers - experts in this topic, which were outlining the situation in this area. Then were the main experts, after which everyone had the opportunity to express their opinions about the problems addressed directly during the communication. The outcome of each block is again summed the main experts.
As the rotation the discussions Andrew Kulikov read the results of expert poll "Charity - 2011: Ukraine", which in a few weeks passed on the initiative of the Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists. The survey involved 55 experts - specialists in various spheres of social life.
   Participants discussed a wide range of issues, were of great number of interesting and true thoughts. Thus, in the block "Philanthropy and the State" (information speaker was a program manager of the Ukrainian Independent Center of Political Studies Maxim Latsiba) present opinions are divided. Most of the audiences believe that today in Ukraine inadequate legislation in the field of philanthropy. That delaying the adoption of the amended Law on Charity and Charitable Organizations, consideration of the percentage of philanthropy frankly inhibits the development of philanthropy in Ukraine. Others have defended the idea that charities do not need help from the state and can work normally in the current legislation, it is only necessary to understand and execute.
   Out of this situation the panelists see in the "inventory" of charitable organizations and their union. Indeed, in Ukraine registered thousands of charitable and community organizations, of which really work very small percentage. This is a complex task, and the establishment of the Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists - an attempt to solve it. "We may not be able to combine all, but we can give an impetus", - said Alexander Maksymchuk.
   "The main objective of cooperation and association of philanthropists should be a sense of common purpose and common task, openness and accountability. First we need to start looking in one direction and start moving simultaneously and systematically ", - said Ustin Maltsev
The results were announced on the expert survey on this issue. It is significant that no expert pointed out that the legislative and regulatory frameworks in Ukraine promote the development of philanthropy in Ukraine. 65% of the experts noted that the legislation does not promote nor prohibit the development of philanthropy. And 35% believe that the legislative framework impedes the development of philanthropy.
   In the second block "Philanthropy and the Media" (the tone of the debate gave the Executive Director of the Information and Analytical Center "Social Space" Alla Prune) the participants agreed on a conversation that public and charitable organizations - good newsmakers, but they do not know how interesting submit themselves and their work and do not know how to enlist the support of the media. On the other hand, journalists are often stereotyped, and sometimes lack of understanding of the specifics of the third sector. At the same time consumers are interested in this information - it is convincingly proved head of the Information Portal NovaUkraina.org Artem Stelmashov.
What to do? First, change the approach to the media and views on their function. Not refer to them as requested, but with the proposal. "Attracting media to solve problems - one of the most effective ways to attract their attention", - said Alla Prune. Second, talk about your work and possibly a bright and creative. Today, as compared, for example, with Russia, we have very few quality publications on philanthropy. And third - it is necessary to educate journalists.
 2
Opinion poll findings:
• The media is full and objective show processes in the field of charity - 12%;
• The media have little interest in what's happening in the field of charity, so the coverage of charity events is incomplete and occasionally - 51%;
• The media are considering benefactors (charitable organization) as potential advertisers; if you have money - you will get coverage, there is no payment - no coverage - 43%;
• The media are dependent on their owners, and so coverage of charitable basis on political or business-like or preferences of owners of media - 71%.
The third block "Charity and Society" opened Svetlana Kutz, who presented the results of last year, the survey of Fund "Democratic Initiatives": "Charitable Ukraine: the practice and attitude of Ukrainians to the charity. Performance Measurement". Vasily Poluyko give other data of the same Fund "Democratic Initiatives"; at this time was investigated property condition of society. "About 16% of the population does not have enough money even for food, 60% - have means for necessary, for a little more can afford - 24%, less percent of Ukrainians can afford all - he said. - You must agree that twenty-four percent cannot help for seventy-six percent. Government should work here, and charity must help to overcome the problem".
Work should be integrated and effective. If someone knows how to overcome the problem, the others can help to do this under the law, and still others - to finance the process, the problem can be solved. But the one, who gives money, has the right to see the result. "When an organization gives a result - she has no problem with raising funds", - Margaret Sichkar is conviction. She is echoed by Artem Makeev, president of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation "Social Partnership": "Nothing will be qualitatively realized in conditions of poor management. The organization shall act as an effective manager of its projects. And when it demonstrated its efficiency and professionalism - government will connect".
Participants in the debate highlighted another aspect of the problem: people do not know how to do good works, because there is nobody to teach them correctly or ask for a contribution. They must learn to charity from childhood, schools and institutions. A positive experience in this area shared Irina Belova, director of Irpen specialized school № 2.
This is an expert opinion. At issue, the decision of what problems are most needed for the dynamic development of philanthropy in Ukraine, experts have identified are:
• lack of public trust in charities - 65%;
• social passivity and inertia of the citizens of Ukraine - 51%;
• social passivity and inertia of the Ukrainian business - 43%;
• corruption of the state apparatus which oppressive social activities of society - 61%;
• lack of transparency and closeness to public charities - 37%;
• incompetence and inefficiency of charities - 22%.
   "We must all remember one thing: charity is a very important and a good deal, but it should not be a substitute for something that should make the government. Otherwise, the government relaxes"- said in the conclusion of debate Vasily Poluyko.
Victoria Syumar clearly identify what steps should be done next. The first - to make a petition and think about how to promote the adoption of the Law on Charity and Charitable Organizations in the new edition. Second - to talk about myself, shoot video, write interesting texts, go to the radio. Third - go to school, to teach children philanthropy.
   "And we must unite and support each other" - put an end Alexander Maksymchuk.
"In the Ukrainian word "Blagodijnost" (Charity) the main thing - "dіya" (action), so let us act. But there is another great Ukrainian word that denotes a charity - "dobrochinnіst". It is based on the word "chin", the main significance of which we have recently forgotten. "Chin" - means feat. And I thank you for those little daily deeds, "chin" you do "- said Andrew Kulikov, closing the discussion.
   In the second half of Congress "Charitable Ukraine" - Round table" What is the tax legislation will help the development of philanthropy in Ukraine?", Master class "Effective fundraising as a way to stability of charitable projects", and parallel conducting of public presentations of the most efficient charitable projects and initiatives have been implemented in Ukraine. Among the participants of presentation - winners of the V National contest "Philanthropist of the Year" and member of the Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists.

Charitable Fund of Ustin Maltsev supported Kherson poet

1   In 2008, Kherson poet Vasily Zagorodniuk decided to go to rest to Sivash Sea. Break from work, to gather new strength, energy, inspiration, which is not always enough of the gray apartment blocks. Rotten Sea, sometimes referred to as the Siwash, so inspired by the poet, that he began writing poems on the sand! One verse, second verse, third, fourth...
Vasily Zagorodniuk called his friend, colleague, now deceased, Nikolai Bratan, who advised Zagorodniuk to find a pen and paper and start writing. First, the author's idea, the poem had to take the form of poetic cycle. But Siwash so captured the soul of the poet, that the December 2, 2011 in the literary department of Kherson regional museum, museum-apartment B. Lavrenev presented poetry collection "Siwash," which was released in book form.
   Interesting fact: Basil Zagorodniuk could be in the Guinness Book of Records as the poet, who wrote a whole book on the sand. He could, but not proved, since the whole process was not documented any photo or video shoot.
It should be noted that on the presentation was an interesting audience. There were journalists and literary critics, students of Vasily Zagorodniuk (he teaches at Kherson State University), poets and writers.
   Lada Fedorovskaya, well-known literary critic in Kherson, praised the collection, which noted the depth and variety of images, the subtlety of the word. Even the author noted that this book - it is his vision as an environmental Sivash pearls in Kherson Region. And indeed, all the poems of Sivash: its salt lakes, its high sky, its flora and fauna, people...
Students KSU Faculty of Philology and Journalism, namely Alexandra Godina, Olesya Tolstochub and Victoria Kolechko, pleased the guests so that they read out a poem of his teacher. The real surprise was a small impromptu by Victor Bratan, son of the famous Kherson poet.
   2 Vasily Zagorodniuk was reciting his poems. He is "loaded" guests their energy and gave them to feel what he saw, heard and felt himself. The poet was able to capture the soul of each and get a laugh, then sad.
   The atmosphere was extraordinary! The eyes of the audience on fire. Pride tore everyone . Pride for their countryman, for Kherson, for Ukraine! Repeatedly expressed their gratitude to Zagorodniuk at the party, and finally wished "Give God - not the last!".
   The event was attended by representatives of the Charitable Foundation of Ustin Maltsev. Ustin personally congratulated Vasily Zagorodniuk with presentation and genuinely happy with new poetic heights: "I am very pleased that the spiritual, inner development does not stand still. A new collection of poetry Vasily Zagorodniuk proves it! The main thing is that young people have an example for imitation!".
   Recall that on September 1 this year with the support of the Foundation Ustin Maltsev out a coloring book for first graders "Marine Alphabet" written by V. Zagorodniuk. We hope that this is not the last joint project which aims at the inner development!

The successes of the Volunteers Club KIDSMADE

On the basis of the Kherson regional boarding school named by T. Shevchenko acting volunteers club KIDSMADE, which was founded in early 2010 by Irina Kucherova - a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, who was born and raised in Kherson. The permanent members of the club KIDSMADE are four girls: Hellene, Galina, Irina and Olga. These cheerful girls help children to take the right path in life.
The founders of the boarding school in conjunction with volunteers always arrange for the children interesting programs that focus on their spiritual and emotional growth. Various clubs and classes of interests and skills are organized. For example, October 25, Kherson club volunteers started the class of hairdressing skills for orphans, October 13, was a master class by a professional artist, teacher from Dnieper Palace of Pioneers Leonid Smagin. And recently, the kids have pleased with going to the cinema «3D World", whose leadership has provided the session is absolutely free and already agreed with the management of the boarding of long-term care and assistance. All these and many other activities are available to children with the help of volunteers club.
Thanks to master classes in polymer clay sculpting, children were able to buy a shower-box. They produced a variety of crafts: hair pins, key-rings and mobile phones, fridge magnets, earrings, which are in demand at charity fairs, shops, universities, and beauty salons of the city. Totally there were of about ten fairs!
Members of the newly created Kherson volunteers club produced the newspaper "School Kaleidoscope". The paper consists of four pages, circulation of which two thousand copies.
Children - our future. They say not for nothing. Parents take care of their Child. But what to do when the child is an orphan? Just look for support and assistance from others. And most importantly, that there are still good people in the world! Volunteers club KIDSMADE - some of them. Nice to know that 240 children-orphans and children deprived of parental rights is in good hands. Keep it up!

A great importance had meeting with Yakov Rogalin, director of the Donetsk Charitable Foundation "Kindness". Along with him Ustin Maltsev discussed many new ideas that would help our city become the new socio-cultural stage of development. Also Yakov Rogalin as a leading expert in the path of charity expressed his position. According to him, we mustn’t speak a lot, we must act, and radical! Do not just listen, and hear your neighbor! Only if we do this we can get the top! With his opinion it is impossible not to agree, as he studied this segment in 14 countries and charitable experience tested for years!

   October 7, 2011 was board meeting the All-Ukrainian charitable organization "Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists'. The Board of the Association adopted two organizations - the International Charitable Foundation in honor of the Holy Virgin and the Foundation Ustin Maltsev.
   "Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists" is one of the most powerful organizations in the field of charity and takes a leading position in this segment. In board members include Alexander Maksymchuk (International Charitable Fund "Ukraine 3000"), Alexander Oliynyk (Public Organization "Analytical Agency" Ukrainian Mark "), Svetlana Kuts (Social Organization "Center for Philanthropy"), Sergei Letenko (Ukrainian charitable fund" Children's World "), Ruslana Kovalchuk (Public Organization "Ukrainian Center for Museum Development"). This organization began its work in 2007. Association of Ukrainian Philanthropists realizes its own projects aimed at development of charity in Ukraine, has partnered programs and projects, and encourage public initiatives in the field of philanthropy.
   - It is good that the representatives of charities, community and socially oriented organizations from all regions of Ukraine are united. This gives great potential to achieve great results and changes in social reform in the country. I wish us all the command and systematic effort to achieve better results - said Ustin Maltsev, head of the Foundation.
   Unfortunately, many people forget that they need to do good works selflessly, without expecting any reward. After all, charity - this is love, and love does not require anything in return. Thank you, that there are still people who care about people's lives!
