The order of the "Goodness" presented to Ustin Maltsev

On the the 1^st of October at the City Clinical Hospital of. A. and G. Tropins held the feast day of the temple, "Barbara." At the vigil came parishioners, staff and patients of the hospital, representatives of the city authorities and charities. Led the service  the prior of Catherina Cathedral prior of the Eastern District Archpriest Peter Koval.

 After the service, the head of the department of social service and charity Kherson diocese UCC Priest Sergei Dmitriev was awarded the Order of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas "for charity" philanthropist, benefactor, the head of a charitable organization is Ustin Maltsev.

As you know Ustin Maltsev has long been known in the Kherson their good deeds. In 2008, he was aware of and understood to the need of society in a fair, responsible, systematic and transparent goodness to create just charity. Whose activities Ustin sent to support the younger generation, and the areas of life such as health, education, culture and spirituality.

“ Awarding the Order of the Church - it's not just high reward, it's still one of God blessing a man who is not indifferent revival of spirituality", - said the priest Sergey Dmitriev.

"It is a great honor to receive the Order of" St. Nicholas, "but this is not just my award, it is an achievement of each citizen of Kherson each and every person f order and responsibilities each day to work for the achievement of goodness and stability in our society" - summed Ustin Maltsev .

Consecration of the church of "Holy Trinity" in Kherson

  It is a real holiday in Shumenskiy district - Damian, Kherson and Tavricheskiy Archbishop consecrated the newly built church dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
  "The consecrated church should become a shelter for all those in need," - says the rector of the church of the Holy Trinity, Archpriest Eugeniy Sidorenko. "A temple is like an open sky. We open the heaven to bless the people who come to our city. We want to support, encourage, admonish, so that our society changed. A society is successfull and blessed when recognizes God and is grateful to Him. "
  Residents of the district are very happy that they will not have to cover long distances, that this church will become a hospitable place for residents of the district, but also for those who will come there to quench his spiritual thirst, for the treatment of mental and physical ailments. The church already has a Sunday school, a youth club and a social center. As conceived by the rector, the temple has to become the center of social and spiritual life of the district.
  The church was built jointly by parishioners and patrons. All who participated in the construction of the temple were awarded a diploma from the Archbishop after the liturgy.

  Ustin Maltsev, a known benefactor and philanthropist, attended the consecration of the church,. He also supported the formation of the spiritual temple.
  "I am convinced that many young people now will come to the temple and devote themselves to spirituality. It is a great honor for me, as a benefactor, that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church gave me a badge honor - a diploma. But this award is not only mine, it is the reward of all people who do good, honor and order, who work every day to achieve stability in our city, contributing good, love, culture, and spirituality to our society "- concluded Ustin Maltsev.

John Howard is 286 years old!

  On September 2, 1726 a great philanthropist John Howard was born in London. All his life he devoted to the struggle against epidemic diseases - plague, typhoid and other diseases.
  Fate decided that when he came to Kherson to fight the typhoid epidemic in 1790, he fell ill and died.
  Kherson people immortalized the memory about John Howard and erected a monumental construction with a bas-relief image of the outstanding humanist in the form of a sundial with inscriptions: "Howard. Found peace on January 20 being 65 years form birth. Alios salvos fecit (He made other people healthy) Vixit propter alios (He lived for other people)". It is a real honor for the town that such a great person is buried in Kherson.
  To mark the 286th birthday of John Howard, members of a Charity Coalition "Support in development of charity in Kherson region" gathered near the sundial on September 2, 2012 and put flowers in the memory of the great philanthropist.

  Kherson charity people took part in the event. These were: the head of the Charity fund, a social figure and Maecenas Ustin Maltsev, the head of the Regional union of folk artists "Dneprovskaya Palitra" Oleg Chernenko and the team of the Charity fund.
  There is now a big problem of cruelty and indifference to fellow creatures, friends, people in general. It is topical today. And the memory about this person who devoted himself to serving for other people is a good example for all of us. We must remember him and honor his memory, tell the knowledge about him to our children. The awareness of Ukrainian people will be changing, and goodness, love and well being will return to our life", - told Ustin Maltsev.
  Ustin Maltsev also added that we must follow the example of such people, learn unselfishness, good and humanity from them.
  "John Howard is a great person. His deeds are shining examples for our society. I want that there were more such virtuous people in our country and in the whole world. We must start doing small things: respect each other and take care of surrounding people", - told Oleg Chernenko, the head of the Regional union of folk artists "Dneprovskaya Palitra".

Ustin Maltsev presented an Alphabet for firstgraders

  On August 30 a presentation of a coloring book "Marine Alphabet" took place in the office of the Charity fund of Ustin Maltsev. The author of the book was Vasiliy Zagorodnyuk - a chairman of Kherson regional union of writers of Ukraine. "Marine Alphabet" was printed with an edition of 3500 copies. On the Day of Knowledge the coloring books will be given to all schools of Kherson, to the school in Zelenovka village, to libraries, children homes and orphanages of the town.
  "We want to thank all socially responsible businesses which support our project. This project is very important for Kherson children. As a matter of fact there are a lot of editing projects but funding, support of businesses and society is needed. Why a marine alphabet? Everything starts form the childhood and that mentality and knowledge which are contributed to a child, give impetus for him to develop as a personality", - told Ustin Maltsev, head of the nominal Charity fund, social figure, philanthropist.

Children of 1st grades will get books from the fund of Ustin Maltsev

On September 1, 2011 all 1^st graders of Kherson will get a coloring-book “Marine Alphabet”. 3500 samples were printed and will be given to all schools, orphanages and children homes of Kherson on the Knowledge day. The author of the peculiar Alphabet was Vasiliy Zagorodnyuk – a chairman of Kherson regional union of Ukrainian writers: “The book will help children to master the reading skills faster, strengthen the knowledge of the alphabet and will help to feel love to the beautiful sea world”.

Two weeks before September 1 a presentation of the coloring book “Marine Alphabet” was held in the press club “Noviy Den” in the framework of a regional project “To the school with a book bouquet”. A director of one of Kherson schools was given 20 samples of “Marine Alphabet” for 1^st graders.

This book was published due to the Charity fund of Ustin Maltsev, socially responsible business – a network of jewelry shops “Kamelia” and a furniture enterprise “Nikolas”. Ustin Maltsev said: “A book makes a personality and a person as a whole. Children are our future and every Ukrainian has to think about the future today”.

Ustin Maltsev will make a report in the Moscow school of management in Skolkovo

   On 6-7 June, 2012 the first Non-commercial International Business Forum "ONLY TOGETHER" will be held in the Moscow school of management in Skolkovo. It will be devoted to charity and social corporate responsibility. Speakers from the leading world charity organizations, manufacturing giants, businessmen, politicians, mass media representatives and just people who are interested in this problem will share their personal experience.
  Ustin Maltsev will take part and make a report in the discussion of issues raised by the participants of the forum.
The participating funds that support the idea of holding the forum "ONLY TOGETHER" are: the Ronald Mac Donald fund, "Life Line", Women's League "Kindness Bridge", WWF, the Green Peace, the Red Cross, Gates foundation and many others.

One more child was saved by the fund of Ustin Maltsev!

   The proverb says: Only together we are a power. The situation with Zhenia Liaskovskiy proves this. It was collected 115 000 hrivnas (€ 11 500) for his treatment. This amount was raised in 4 months by united efforts of citizens of Kherson region, Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia, as well as by philanthropists of neighboring countries and far abroad! Now Zhenia has the chance to live full life.
   8-year old boy Zhenia Liaskovskiy suffered from S-shaped scoliosis of the 4th grade. One could not think of normal physical development of the child as the rib cage pressed the heart and lungs. The boy needed urgent operation, during which doctors will put him XIA Stryker implant made of titanium alloy for the fixation of the spine. It will help Zhenia to straighten his spine and to return his internal organs to the normal condition.
   This operation became possible due to the actions of Ustin Maltsev's charity fund and a group of volunteers from Russia!
   Thus, by April 1, 2012 it was collected 115 000 hrivnas (€11 500), including 35 000 hrivnas for the XIA Stryker implant and 80 000 hrivnas for making the operation and rehabilitation course. The campaign on raising funds was held in the period of 18.01.2012 and 01.04.2012.
   Olga Liaskovskaya, Zhenia's mother, and Ustin Maltsev's charity fund are very grateful to all who helped the 8-year old boy to become independent from the wheel-chair! Only when we hold hands and unite efforts, we make impossible things possible!

Ustin Maltsev’s fund supported the tournament of O.Mishukov

   On April 21, 2012 an Open regional tournament in volleyball among women's teams was held in the walls of the sport hall of Kherson state university. It was devoted to the memory of the honored artist, Professor Oleg Vasilievich Mishukov. The tournament gathered teams from Kherson (secondary school №52, gymnasium №3, physics and technical lyceum, Academic lyceum of O.Mishukov at Kherson state university, secondary school №24 at children's sport school №1) and the region. Girls of 9th to 11th forms took part in the competition.
   True struggle for the primacy broke out. Every team and every girl who was a part of the whole of the team "pulled out" her right to be the best. The tournament gathered the strongest teams. The proof of this fact is that the team of the Academic lyceum of O.Mishukov at Kherson state university won the championship among Kherson lyceums this year and the team of Chulakovka became the champion of Ukraine.

   Ustin Mltsev, the head of the charity fund and Ursulenko Alexey Anatolievich, a social activist supported the Open regional tournament in volleyball and purchased all the necessary inventory. They also showed sponsor support to the team of Kherson academic lyceum of O.Mishukov and bought brand wear with the logo of Ustin Maltsev's charity fund for the team.
   - Holding of such an event is a great job, especially in the memory of such an excellent person as Oleg Vasilievich Mishukov. The sport event is aimed to draw as much young people as possible to healthy lifestyle and sport. Healthy people make a healthy society!, - said Ursulenko Alexey Anatolievich, a public person and one of the organizers of the tournament.

Thus, according to the results of the competition, the right to be named the champions of the tournament won:

1st place - Academic lyceum of O.Mishukov at Kherson state university
2nd place - the secondary school №24 at the children's sport school №1
3rd place - the secondary school of Chulakovka (Golaya Pristan region).
All the winners and participants were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts.

Ustin Maltsev’s fund supported the all Ukrainian student olympiade

   From April 18 to April 20, 2012 the all Ukrainian student olympiade of the "Journalistic" and "Advertising and public connections" faculties took place оn the basis of Kherson academic lyceum at Kherson state university. An event of such a level was held for the first time in Kherson. The olympiade was held under the support of Ustin Maltsev's charity fund.    Talented students were competing for the title of the best among the best during three days. More than 70 students presented educational institutions from all Ukraine. Honored members of the jury were assigned to estimate knowledge and skills of the students. The head of the jury was Alexandrov Alexandr Alexeevich, professor, Doctor of Philology whom they invited form Odessa.    Cultural and entertaining program was organized for the participants of the olympiade where they had a wonderful opportunity to see our town, to visit the museum and to become members of the II international tourist forum, after which the participants wrote a creative composition. It was also taken into consideration when the results were calculated.

   Ustin Maltsev, the head of the charity fund said: "Information and advertising are essential and fundamental systems of the processes that occur in the society. Future specialists in journalistic and advertising must treat with responsibility work with information and its presentation to the masses".

A children’s regional exhibition of paintings “The way to the beauty” took place in Kherson

   On April 20, 2012 a children's paintings exhibition that was the final stage of the regional contest "The way to the beauty" was held in Kherson in Kherson regional art museum of A.Shovkunenko.     Founders and organizers of the contest were Management of culture and tourism in Kherson regional state administration, Kherson regional art museum of A.A.Shovkunenko, Kherson regional organization of the National union of painters of Ukraine.     The contest started on November 10, 2011 and was held in order to develop fine arts in Kherson region, to bring out gifted children of fine arts schools, to make heads and teachers of art departments at schools of aesthetic education work and exchange experiences.    At the exhibition works of pupils of children's art schools of Skadovsk, Novaya Kahovka, Velika Alexandrovka and Golaya Pristan, as well as children's music schools of Belozerka and Stanislav were presented. The participants of the exhibition were winners of the contests that took place in these schools.

   All the works that were presented at the exhibition are small children's masterpieces. One can feel in them all the warmth, kindness and sincerity of their souls that they put into the works. We must pay tribute to the teachers who taught the pupils the skills of fine arts, their diligent work was reflected in beautiful works of their pupils. Thus, on the results of the contest the winners of the I stage were:

Kherson philanthropist always supports events of the kind, especially if it concerns the development of children's creation works. Chuprina Vladimir Grigorievich, president of the National union of artists of Ukraine, came also to support the young talents.

Ustin Maltsev’s fund will support the project “Let’s make Ukraine clean”

   On April 28, 2012 the all Ukrainian project "Let's make Ukraine clean" will take place. The aim of the project is to make streets of the town, parks and public gardens clean and to improve our life with the help of ordinary citizens. The campaign will be held in the framework of the international social project "Let's Do It!" the united more than 80 countries of the world.
   Last year the initiative gathered more than 22 000 Ukrainians who came into the streets of their cities to collect rubbish. This year more than 100 000 citizens of Ukraine will support the project.
   Kherson people will also support the project! Ustin Maltsev's charity fund will take an active part in this campaign too. The team of the fund will involve business and mass media representatives into joint work on improvement of the quality of surrounding environment.

Ustin Maltsev’s fund supports folk art

   Kherson region is the native land of many creative people. Its nature and people inspired many talented painters whose works will always remain in the treasury of our Southern land as cultural and spiritual heritage. Those who think that the "golden age" of art in Kherson region passed long time ago, are terribly wrong! There are even more talents in our time and every new day a "star" of decorative art lights up. All this became possible due to the Regional union of masters of folk art "Dneprovskaya palette" who develop folk art of our region.
   Thus, on April 12, 2012 in the Regional universal library of Oles Gonchar members of this union opened an exhibition of Irina Ivanyuk's works "About what the soul sings..." that was coincided with 125 years anniversary of Georgiy Kurnakov. The painter works in the genre of still life and landscape. On her canvas national coloring of Ukrainian nation and original technique intertwine. In her works her own artistic images are reflected: village life coloring, Ukrainian steppe and delicate fragrance of wild flowers.

   For the opening of the exhibition pupils of the elementary school of Kherson gymnasium №6 were invited. Talented children had the opportunity to see the masterpieces of contemporary painting, as well as make the first steps in decorative art due to the fund of Ustin Maltsev. After the opening of the exhibition children got presents: albums and paints.
   Ustin Maltsev, head of the charity fund said: "Our task is to find talented children and to give them an opportunity for development. The main task of mentors and teachers is to see in a child interest for creative work, and parents' task is to develop this interest. Segment of cultural development forms culture on the whole, and it is more important than material benefits! Ustin Maltsev's fund gave a symbolic present for every child aimed to reveal in them talent of painting".
   One more surprise was waiting for the children. Professionals of arts and crafts held a master class on Easter themes. Children made an ingenious card from paperboard, cloth, beads and seeds in the shape of an Easter egg.

   Georgiy Vasilievich Kurnakov (1887-1977) - painter, Honored artist of USSR. In 1916 he graduated from Kiev school of arts. From 1919 during many years he was teaching painting and sketching in Kherson. He died and was buried in Kherson.
   "Dneprovskaya palette" is an organization uniting masters of folk art. The head of the union is Chernenko Oleg Mihailovich. The main goal of creating the Union is consolidation of all masters of Kherson region into one strong union for strengthening and development of folk art in Kherson region, finding and help for perspective talents.

Ustin Maltsev’s charity fund made a meeting with students

   This week Ustin Maltsev, head of Kherson charity fund, organized a meeting with students of journalism and philology of Kherson state university. Conversation with the students was held with the support of Vasiliy Stepanovich Zagorodnyuk, teacher of journalism and philology faculty, as well as a talented poet. 
   It is not the first time that Ustin Maltsev talks to students as the basis of understanding between generations and people in general ia laid in communication, exchange of opinions and information. It is so important for us all to be understood and appreciated. Students of primary classes were present at the meeting. It seemed that these young people should have already determined their life positions and know the goals they must fallow. But everything is not so optimistic as young specialists had no idea about how their professional way will look like after the graduation of the university. The students were totally confused and puzzled by the questions Where they would like to work, What they would like to become in future and How much money they would like to get for their job. Can it be true that the youth of today underestimate their capabilities and live according to the principle "let happen what will happen"? Such a situation and way of thinking is absolutely unnatural for a person, especially in modern world that is moving at the high speed, and one has to keep up with it and look for ways of self realization.

   Ustin Maltsev told his story of life which is understood by everyone. As he also was a student, got a higher education, aimed to start his independent life after the graduation of the university. However, as it often turns out, we are not provided with such a store of knowledge and skills, so that we could relax and go with the flow not thinking of anything after getting the diploma. 
   Ustin Maltsev noted with regret that modern teaching does not provide the most important text book, a book that teaches how to become a Person. This book is nominal as one has to learn the basis of good, justice and mercy not theoretically but to practice the skills in everyday life. Such qualities of character as organization, persistence, self perfection, confidence in one's capabilities are very helpful with these practicing. 
   If at least some of the listeners that were present at the meeting realized that they are capable to create harmonious future comfortable for life and, moreover, they are ready to contribute to it right now, it means that Ustin Maltsev's words were not in vain. Even weak sprouts pierce the soil, and what will happen if to water them in time and care of them. This is how with the right word and advice Ustin Maltsev helped young "sprouts" to find power for raising and longing to the light.

Head of the charity fund Ustin Maltsev met the youth of the club “Resurrection”

   There is a large number of religious schools and clubs. Most of them work with people of the aged, elderly people. But little people care about spiritual development of the youth. But, as it turned out, there is an association of Orthodox youth that try to prove with their actions that it is "cool" to be religious. The "Resurrection" club was organized by the cathedral of the holy Trinity. Its leaders are father Oleg and father Eugeniy. 
   The Orthodox youth club holds weekly Sunday gatherings in the assembly hall of the social centre in 19 Dimitrova Street. Thus, one day Ustin Maltsev, head of the charity fund was one of the guests at the meeting.

 

   One must mention that the major age category among the members of the club is 15 to 35 years old. Probably due to this fact friendly contact was established between the speaking Ustin Maltsev and the audience. The guest was bombarded with numerous questions. As they made a deal to communicate without taboos and censor, the questions were different by nature. Some were interested in the secret of successful business development, others - in spiritual development. Ustin Maltsev did not answer at once the question "When did you come to God? Did you realize Him on your own or there was an occasion that led you to this?" He showed an icon that he has always close to his heart and the neck cross which he brought from different holy places of Ukraine and the whole world. Ustin Maltsev said that he will not tell that went to the church with his parents every week. Faith in God came to him a bit later. He added that now he prays every morning and evening. One of the prays is "Paternoster". Prays help him organize everything that he has inside. During the meeting they also discussed a great deal of joint events that are aimed to develop all good and positive in the Kherson region. 
   This is not the first meeting of the "Resurrection" youth club and the Kherson patron. A project "Orthodox view" that had a subject "Youth in modern society" was held with their joint participation. 
   Ustin Maltsev concluded his meeting with the youth telling that youth today is our society tomorrow. He encouraged everyone to do all we can to create stable future for our children.

Ustin Maltsev’s fund encouraged the beauty competition “Miss Beauty” of the Kherson economic and law

   Kherson is rich for warm waters of the Dnieper river, fresh air and soft sunshine. This is obviously felt in spring when everything is in blossom and fragrance around. It is so pleasant to watch the beauty of flowers and listen to birds singing. But our town may please your eye with beautiful girls that are so many here. Some of them took part in the competition "The most beautiful".
   Such an opportunity was given to our beautiful girls by the management of the Kherson economic and law institute that holds beauty competitions "Miss Beauty" among the students of this high school annually. The "battle" took place on March 7 this year in the entertainment complex "Amigo", just before the international Women's day. Organizers of the contest decided not to limit the contest only with a defile in mini-bikini. Vice versa! Girls had to win their title only due to their abilities and charm. The subject of the contest was also very interesting. It was based on Ukrainian traditions.
   There were 7 contestants in total: Gritseva Anna, Timchenko Arina, Rudenko Alisa, Efimenko Tatiana, Bugayova Viktoria, haidarova Zarina and Pasichnik Olga. The judges were: a representative of the organizing committee of contests "Miss Studentship" and "Miss University" Kiselyova Valentina, the manager of a cosmetic company "Oriflame" Shukruta Anastasia, the first assistant of the regional head of the youth organization "Young regions" Kachalov Alexandr, representative of Ustin Maltsev's charity fund Belokon Ekaterina and the head of the student self-administration of the Kherson national technical university Lutsenko Anton.
   Girls get the education of a bookkeeper and lawyer in the university and the contest showed that they master the basics of their future profession very well. Girls had to sell the merchandise in one of the laps, so that people wanted to buy it immediately. But they had to sell it taking into consideration the specifics of their profession. A future lawyer offered to buy a pear with all the necessary documents and a manager was selling cucumbers so well that she realized 50 hrivnas for one vegetable. In such a way every contestant offered the spectators to buy her merchandise.

   The ability to sell something is only an advantage nowadays. But one cannot escape from routine work. According to the requirements of one of the contests girls had to make a varenik which strict jury should like. It is a very useful contest for a future housewife. Not all the girls managed to accomplish this task equally well. Only vareniks that Haidarova Zarina and Rudenko Alisa made, satisfied the demands of the jury committee.
   Girls had to experience one more contest: they had to guess the melody playing. Everyone understands the meaning of this contest. That girl who will guess the songs faster, will get a point this evening. Alisa Rudenko was a real star in this contest. She guessed more than a half from all the songs.
   Not even one beauty contest can be held without crazy dancing. Girls had to demonstrate their dancing skills in the last round of the contest. Boys dressed in the costumes of Ukrainian Cossacks came to dance with them. This gave zest to the performance. One of the boys patterned himself on the "moon walk" of Michael Jackson very artistically. He won plaudits of the spectators.    At last the juries were ready to make a verdict and to tell who won the competition. We have to mention that every girl was beautiful, talented and charming. But competitions are made to choose the best from the best. Judges estimated that the winner was Efimenko Tatiana who powered a little past Rudenko Alisa. Ex Miss Beauty 2011 Tatiana Potapova put holily a diadem on the head of the new Miss. A diploma, a monetary prize and presents form the organizers of the project were ready for the winner.
   Ustin Maltsev's fund was one of the partners of the event, this is why in the framework of the beauty contest another competition for the best social project was held. The winner was Bugayova Viktoria. Her project "Green world" intends to green up Kherson annually with a little cost. Vika was awarded a diploma and future realization of the project with the aid of Ustin Maltsev.

Annual event "Help for wintering birds" is held in Kherson!

   Winter for the birds, which do not migrate to the southern countries, it is the most difficult time: hunger and cold. And in the Kherson region, there are many varieties of wintering birds, from sparrow to pigeon. To help the feathered you need to hang out feeders in a time and to organize regular feeding for them. Interesting fact: If the feeder throughout the winter season is always filled, you will save from starvation more than 12 birds!
   In winter feeders in our area visited by more than a dozen species of birds. Among the city it would be chickadees, house sparrows, pigeon and magpies. In a large park in the suburbs or in rural areas, especially in the woods, the species composition is more diverse.
   For nearly 10 years of our feathered friends take care the members of the Regional Center of ecological-naturalistic work of youth. In general, these are children are from different Kherson schools. Every year since the onset of cold weather, they organize an action called "Help for wintering birds".
   February 16, 2012 charity fund of Ustin Maltsev visited the young naturalists. For nearly five years, in this action has been actively involved the team of charity fund. With the help of fund was bought food for birds, which children will bring to feeders near their homes and schools. Philanthropists were very warmly welcomed by friends of nature and they even staged a themed evening. Boys and girls, who represented different clubs, told a lot of useful and fascinating information. For example, chickadees eat only non-salt bacon, and from 10 birds, only one will be able to meet the winter.

   - We are take care about the population of starlings, which from recently time left for the winter in our Kherson region. Starling - special bird because it has small legs and a small beak. And so, when snow covered the ground, it is very difficult to get something to eat for this bird. That's why our naturalists trample small meadows in the snow, where they fill the feed for starlings.... If you want to enjoy and to listen to the chirping of birds in the spring, you need to take care of them during the winter. - Said Kovalenko Inna, teacher-organizer of the Center of ecological-naturalistic work of youth.
   In beginning, the project "Help for wintering birds" was held exclusively by members from the Center of ecological-naturalistic work of youth, but today - it is a large-scale event, which attracts more and more people. So, this year, members of the club "Prolіsok" from Kherson children's library number 17, who followed the example of CF of Ustin Maltsev, helped to feed birds.
   - I want, first of all, thank to all teachers, who organized children from schools and instilled to them a love for nature. Secondly, I would like to appeal to all citizens of Kherson. I want each of us have some minutes on the weekend to make feeder, buy on the market a little bit of food for birds and place it in the yard. This way, everybody can help to support the action "Help for wintering birds" and help save the wintering birds.
   In the system of global consumption the problem of ecology and environmental protection has become very important. We need to remember and to take care of nature. If we instill ecological culture to children, we will create a stable and bright future!

The fifth Children's Art Festival "Christmas Island" will be held in Kherson

   In Kherson will held the 5th Children's Art Festival "Christmas Island", which is traditionally held at the Christmas holidays. The uniqueness of this project is that it brings together students of secular and religious schools!
   It should thank the clergy and Kherson community, who were supporting the event. But a separate "thank you" deserve priest Ivan Gordienko, who is the author of the idea. Also, the project is supported by the head of Kherson Vladimir Saldo, Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev and the blessing of the Archbishop of Kherson and Tavria Ioanna.
   Participation in the "Christmas Island" will be able to take children's creative collectives from schools of Kherson, which will show performances on the Christmas theme.
   The festival will take place in 4 stages: Open (January 12 at 10.00 in the Kherson School № 3), Qualifying Round (12 January from 10.30. to 18.00 in the Kherson School № 3), Exhibition and competition of works of arts and crafts for Christmas and New Year theme (13 January from 12.00 to 14.00), Gala concert, which will be held in Kherson State University.

Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev and entertainment complex "Amigo" united for help for children

   When a month ago, in early December, Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev launched the social and charity project called "Be a Santa Claus and Snow Maiden for orphans", no one could imagine, that this will cause such a resonance in the society. For good cause connected not only citizens of Kherson, but also companies and firms.
   The fate of orphans was concerned leadership of the entertainment complex (EC) "Amigo". On their own they have organized a project called "Give a holiday for children", which became part of the action of the Charitable Fund of Ustin Maltsev.
   It should be noted that the action of the EC "Amigo" was resourceful and smart. They were able to lure young people in philanthropy. And this is the right move, because love to people must bring up as soon as possible. The project is "Give a holiday for children" was held in three stages.

   Firstly, on 24 December on the streets of Kherson you could watch beautiful girls and guys. They were volunteers from the modeling agency ST-Models, which are in the coldest day of December collected donations for the orphanages. Their work was a huge success. In just a few hours the guys collected 204 euros!
   Second, in the same evening in the EC "Amigo" was charity disco - «Big Kids Party. The main condition was - the entrance with the toys, which visitors left for the children from orphanages.
   And the third the final stage was a charity disco on December 29 in entertainment complex "Amigo", which summed up the action. On this evening the girls- volunteers from modeling agency ST-Models handed out to everyone hearts-stickers for donations. Also all visitors of entertainment complex could participate in the auction, in which exhibited works of sixth-graders from the Kherson Regional boarding school № 1 named by Taras Shevchenko. Pendants, earrings, key chains, magnets made of polymer clay, went under the hammer for a few seconds. Picture with poppies, embroidered with a cross, was sold for 12 euros. Total for auction were collected 60 euros.
   Upon the event Eugenie Chernenko, art director of EC "Amigo", announced the total amount of funds collected for all three stages - 437 euros! These funds will be spent to purchase needed things for the orphanages and boarding schools.

Philanthropists visited "Malyutka" house in Kherson

   Charity Event "Be Santa Claus and Snow girl for orphans" continues. Every day in the office of the Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev Kherson residents bring a lot of toys, books and clothes for little children, who are deprived of parental love and care. Thanks to the kindhearted Khersons, orphans from three orphanages were able to experience the magic of the New Year. Indeed, for many children this is the first holiday that they meet, surrounded by loving and caring people.
   December 27, 2011 in Kherson Regional orphanage for children with CNS "Malyutka" (little baby) was visited by representatives of Charity Fund of Ustin Maltsev, who have passed books, toys, clothing for children. In this institution there are children from 0 to 4 years. Total brought up there about 80 children. It is impossible not to note the work of educators from orphanage. No one child does not feel deprived of love and care. It is also significant that the orphanage «Malyutka» is in very good condition. In the classrooms are warm, light, clean - not every boarding school boasts such terms.

   - Prior to joining the orphanage «Malyutka», I even couldn't imagine that in Kherson there are so many good people. The most interesting is that the support comes from middle-class people, who are, in fact, himself would not prevent financial aid - summed Lukina Natalia, a pediatrician in Kherson Regional orphanage.
   On the fate of our children are concerned not only Ukrainians, but also Italians. One family from Italy wants to adopt a girl from the orphanage "Malyutka". Throughout the matinee they did not let the baby out of hand. We hope that in the near future spouses Italians are lucky and they will be able to take the baby to him. This means that one child will have happy childhood and a brighter future.
   It is a pity that in Ukraine there is a terrible statistic: adopt only 25-30% of orphaned children. The rest of the children have to wait for love and caring from strangers. It's very good, that people still have good hearts!

Youth in modern society

   On the Kherson regional state TV-channel "Skyfia" December 24, 2011 in Live hosted the program "Orthodox Perspective". Topic: "Youth in modern society".
Program was held by Lydia Grigorieva, Father Eugene Sidorenko and Father Oleg Stetsyuk (leading internet studio). As a guest was invited Ustin Maltsev, director of the Charity Fund, and public figure. His opinion is respected because Ustin Maltsev well aware of the problems of youth.
   - Young people at the moment have three main problems. First, it is an education that is not effective. Second, employment after studies are not stable and no future. And, thirdly, there is no affordable social housing, which makes it impossible to create a complete family - said Ustin.
   Also in the programme was attended by representatives of the Orthodox youth club "Sunday", whose goal is to bring together all young people, communication and most importantly - to prove that "being religious - it's cool".
   The scheme of the program included communication with the audience. In the studio received a huge number of calls from viewers, but, unfortunately, the time to answer all the questions were not enough. Most questions were addressed to Ustin Maltsev. Here are a few of them...

-The basis of any movement, work or serving is the ideology. What is your ideology of life, your philosophy of life?
I'm not first, who came to this land. I'm not last, who will go. My family will live on this planet. I don't care, what shall be after me! In nature, everything has to be connected, must be the circuit. It's no secret that we live in global consumption. This system is utopian. It will lead to the destruction of our civilization, if our society doesn't come to its senses. Therefore, service and surrendering is a natural need, like food and water.
-You are a young man, a successful businessman. What caused to create of a charitable foundation?
For me, charity - is a process of self-knowledge, self-control and self-development. Charity - it is a process of systematic and transparent responsibility and assistance. It is impossible to do business, politics or social activity without understanding and not knowing what are responsibility, openness and honesty.
- How can the youth culture grows up, educates, if we do nothing to create for the education of young people? Where available sports clubs, music schools, clubs of interests? Young people think about the Internet, beer and nightclubs.
There are available sports clubs in our country. Another problem that young people don't want to go there. It's a question more deeply. When on the TV show beautiful boys and girls with cigarettes and beer. Beautiful clubs, glamorous parties, and the Internet with fully available pornography. And this is already catastrophic systematic. Whatever would we tell to children or young people - will be no result! This is a problem of national character. It can only be solved at the state level - by adding new public attitudes to human, nature, society, the universe together.
Young people today - is the state of our country in 10-20 years. If the system of education does not begin to put the methodological development of new knowledge and self-education process, then our society will never emerge from the crisis period.
