A children’s regional exhibition of paintings “The way to the beauty” took place in Kherson

   On April 20, 2012 a children's paintings exhibition that was the final stage of the regional contest "The way to the beauty" was held in Kherson in Kherson regional art museum of A.Shovkunenko.     Founders and organizers of the contest were Management of culture and tourism in Kherson regional state administration, Kherson regional art museum of A.A.Shovkunenko, Kherson regional organization of the National union of painters of Ukraine.     The contest started on November 10, 2011 and was held in order to develop fine arts in Kherson region, to bring out gifted children of fine arts schools, to make heads and teachers of art departments at schools of aesthetic education work and exchange experiences.    At the exhibition works of pupils of children's art schools of Skadovsk, Novaya Kahovka, Velika Alexandrovka and Golaya Pristan, as well as children's music schools of Belozerka and Stanislav were presented. The participants of the exhibition were winners of the contests that took place in these schools.

   All the works that were presented at the exhibition are small children's masterpieces. One can feel in them all the warmth, kindness and sincerity of their souls that they put into the works. We must pay tribute to the teachers who taught the pupils the skills of fine arts, their diligent work was reflected in beautiful works of their pupils. Thus, on the results of the contest the winners of the I stage were:

1st palce - Smirnova Viktoria (the work "Winter park of our town")
2nd place - Rosenzweig Viktoria, Malova Ksenia, Chernenko Maria, Peretyatko Katerina, Musevich Ksenia (the work "Krashenki") 3rd place - Litvinova Natalia (the work "An owl")


The winners of the II stage were:
1st place - Konstantinova Maria (the work "A landscape with sunflowers")
2nd place - Yerina Aliona (the work "An underwater fantasy")
3rd place - Kolesnikov Vladislav (the work "A Ukrainian man") 4th palce - Romanchuk Aliona (the work "A Ukrainian woman")


The winners of the III stage were:
1st palce - Dudnik Katerina (the work "The tree of life")
2nd palce - Chernuha Yulia (the work "A winter landscape")
3rd place - Aystra-Testina Elizaveta (the work "In my yard")

All the winners were awarded diplomas of the winners and valuable prizes. The head of the charity fund Ustin Maltsev could not miss such an event. Kherson philanthropist always supports events of the kind, especially if it concerns the development of children's creation works. Chuprina Vladimir Grigorievich, president of the National union of artists of Ukraine, came also to support the young talents.

George Petrov - the pride of Kherson Region!

   February 9, 2012 in Kherson Regional Art Museum named by A. Shovkunenko held a retrospective exhibition of works of George Petrov. The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the famous artist.
   The collection of Kherson Regional Art Museum named by A. Shovkunenko has more than 50 works of Petrov, which were exhibited on February 9. Also, viewers were able to enjoy the works from the artist's personal fund. George Petrov said that in his studio are so many paintings that they could not placed in the museum.
   It should be noted that painter has chosen one of the most complex forms to express his inner world - working with watercolors. Watercolor, as the high music, demands from maestro a fluency in an instrument, a sense of harmony and consistency of tones. George Petrov was able to cope with this challenging craft. Among a variety of existing genres Petrov chose the closest to him - a landscape and still life. Also one of the main niches in his work take the oil painting, which in complexity of technology is not inferior to watercolors.
   To congratulate George Petrov with the exhibition have come a lot of famous people. At the event was the president of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine - Vladimir Chuprina, which is already has a long friendship with Petrov, and as no one else understands his inner world, which is poured out on the canvas. On behalf of the student of Kherson State University sincerely congratulated the artist Nikolai Levchenko, Professor, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine. Ustin Maltsev, the head of the charity fund, couldn't miss such an event.

   - For the Kherson Region Petrov - is an outstanding personality of culture and history. Those works, which he wrote and will write, show Kherson and Kherson Region what they are really. His role in the culture of our country is very high. In his paintings spelled out a very deep meaning. You could come here every day and discover more and more new! It should be noted that at today's show I saw a lot of young people. This is a good process of cultural development of society. I am very pleased that young people dedicate themselves to the art! - Said Ustin Maltsev, who has shown particular interest to the works of Petrov.
   Artist George Petrov in his work with enthusiasm turns to the eternal, triumphant and magnificent nature, his alma mater. He devoted for nature his work, life and love. Master with his sense and imagination was able to capture the unique motives, and by power of his talent he could depict a world full of wonders and life on the canvases. The success of the works of George Petrov is a special talent to capture the mood of nature and the world. Golden freshly baked bread, vegetables and fruits together with various objects in the paintings of artist live their lives.
   Almost his entire life Petrov dedicated to painting. Maybe in life he shy and taciturn, but paintings of the artist's can say more. In his wise eyes and deep wrinkles, you can see the limitless love to Kherson Region, its nature and people. The artist himself has formulated his credo: "I want to convey to people the beauty that I see ..." For the artist George Petrov legacy of the past - is not only sacred source of strength, but also a prayer to preserve our national cultural heritage.
Note:
George Petrov was born on January 19, 1927 in the town of Engels, Saratov region (Russia). In 1971 he graduated from the Saratov Art School. His teachers were Arhangelskiy M. and Shcheglov I.
Since 1973 - member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 2002 he became a Diploma of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
His works are in collections of Kherson Regional Art Museum named by A. Shovkunenko and in private collections.
Since 1955 he lives and works in Kherson.
   George Petrov is working in oil and watercolor painting in the genre of landscape and still life. He is member of the Republican and All-Union Exhibitions of watercolor.
The artist creates an anthem of human's work - the triptych "Bread" (1982), the triptych "The memory of the last war" (1985): "Hard Years", "Memory", "Gifts of the front", a series of works "Tiraspol impressions", "Autumn in Sednive", "Spring in Saratov".
   The richest series is "Gifts of Kherson Region", which is replenished with new paintings. In the paintings of this series lives and breathes Tauride land: "Milk in a green jug" (1975), "Bread", "Kherson watermelons" (1975), "Autumn Catch" (1981), "Still Life with spikelets" (1974), "Rural Still Life". George Petrov expressed itself as a lyric poet: "Song of Sail", "Wake", "Crucians and carps", "Hoarfrost", "Windy Day", "Aspens".
   Among the works of a talented artist George Petrov stands out the series of landscapes "Monuments of Culture and History", paintings of which created in different historical places, including in the Kherson Region: St. Catherine's Cathedral, a monument to Howard, the church in Berislav, lock in village Casatskoe.
