An all city project “To the school with a book bouquet”


   A presentation of an all city project "To the school with a book bouquet" was held on August 10, 2012 in the press club "Noviy Den". The main aim of the project is to offer all schoolchildren to present to the class, to the school library or to a teacher a new book instead of traditional first September flowers. This will allow forming a classroom library, i.e. books that children can read during the whole school year or give to the school library, as it is an urgent need under the conditions of insufficient funding and absence of contemporary literature.    Organizers of the project are the Ministry of education and science of Kherson regional state administration under the support of the governor of Kherson region, Kherson regional children's library. The initiator of the project was the Centre of Ukrainian Book.     Ustin Maltsev, the head of the Charity fund was also willing to give informational support to the project "To the school with a book bouquet". He said: "I, as a representative of the new generation of Ukraine, clearly understand that at the present moment youth pays little attention to reading of books, thereby making a big mistake as only a good book can develop personality".

   Representatives of municipal and regional authorities, writers, directors of schools, representatives of the Charity fund, library and businessmen were present at the event. Sergey Pantyuk, member of the National union of writers of Ukraine from Kiev, was a special guest at the press conference.    Ustin Mlatsev's fund also presented a coloring book "Marine Alphabet" that will help children to learn reading skills quickly and improve their knowledge of alphabet. The author of the     Alphabet book was Vasiliy Zagorodnyuk, chairman of Kherson regional union of writers of Ukraine.  Representatives of the Charity fund gave also 20 copies of the "Marine Alphabet" to the director of one of Kherson schools for first graders.    "I am very demanding to children's books, but poems of the "Marine Alphabet" are really cool and clever", - said Sergey Pantyuk, a Ukrainian writer, a member of the National union of writers of Ukraine.     On September 1 all pupils of first grades of Kherson schools will get the coloring book "Marine Alphabet" as a present.

Ustin Maltsev’s fund will support the project “Let’s make Ukraine clean”

   On April 28, 2012 the all Ukrainian project "Let's make Ukraine clean" will take place. The aim of the project is to make streets of the town, parks and public gardens clean and to improve our life with the help of ordinary citizens. The campaign will be held in the framework of the international social project "Let's Do It!" the united more than 80 countries of the world.
   Last year the initiative gathered more than 22 000 Ukrainians who came into the streets of their cities to collect rubbish. This year more than 100 000 citizens of Ukraine will support the project.
   Kherson people will also support the project! Ustin Maltsev's charity fund will take an active part in this campaign too. The team of the fund will involve business and mass media representatives into joint work on improvement of the quality of surrounding environment.
   Join and gather your friends and people you know. Let your favorite park or street be clean! The more people - the less rubbish!
   Join the all Ukrainian project in Kherson from 11.00 to 14.00!

Ustin Maltsev's fund took part in the project «We write about charity»

   A competition on creation of articles on charitable subjects in Ukrainian Wikipedia- «We write about charity» - was held for the first time in Ukraine. A charity event which was held in December 2011 - January 2012, was organized by the Association of philanthropists of Ukraine and social organization "Wikimedia Ukraine".
   On March 1, 2012 organizers and judges summed up results of the competition in the office of an information agency "LigaBusinessInform". Chief executive of the social organization "Wikimedia Ukraine" Yury Peroganich, president of the Association of philanthropists of Ukraine, a chairman of the jury of the competition Alexander Maksimchuk, judges - the chief executive of the Institute of mass media Victoria Syumar and the media expert, Andrey Kulikov, ICTV show presenter took part in the press conference devoted to this event. There were also judges at the ceremony- the Chairman of the Supervisory board of the International Charity Fund «Ukraine 3000» Katerina Yushchenko, the chairman of the Supervisory board of Association of philanthropists of Ukraine, the President of the Welfare fund «Friends of children» Marina Krysa, chief executive of the Research and Information Centre «Gromadsky prostir» Alla Prun, trustees of «Vikimedia Ukraine», Ustin Maltsev, the head of Kherson welfare fund, representatives of the organizations - members of Association of philanthropists of Ukraine and others.
   The competition «We write about charity» started on December 12, 2011 and was timed to coincide with the Day of charity. Till January 29, 2012 all interested people could create or edit articles in Ukrainian Wikipedia explaining concepts and terms connected with charity and corporate social responsibility or tell about Ukrainian and international organizations and individual philanthropists. It was also possible to translate into Ukrainian relevant articles from foreign Wikipedias, adding and improving of already existing articles was admitted.
   Alexander Maksimchuk told that they gave forth to this competition right after the Day of charity and now when they have visible results, he is sure that it was a good decision. He added that they could greatly expand the idea of charity in Wikipedia, draw attention of its authors to this aspect of public life and push to further development of these subjects. According to his words, today charitable sector has to use all possible mechanisms of mass media and is searching for new opportunities of information presenting to draw attention to its activity and development. He accentuated that it is a new huge scope of work creating innovative resources and with their help reaching audience. It is a bright and modern way of positioning of charitable organizations. It is one of the ways of charity development.

   Yury Peroganich said that all who write to Wikipedia are true philanthropists. Thus people endow the knowledge, time and work for the sake of enlightenment of others. He informed that the memorandum between «Wikimedia Ukraine» and the National union of local historians of Ukraine was made the day before. This document provides in particular joint activity and forwarding work of researchers of the native land and editors of Ukrainian Wikipedia as well as holding trainings to draw scientists, museum staff and teachers to editing articles.
   Victoria Syumar marked the high level of articles. She said that she saw many works of a much higher level than one could see in Ukrainian press. Social are deeply investigated, an excellent comparative analysis is made with other countries of the world in particular, an interesting statistics is given. All this shows deep understanding of the subject and from now on all may use this information.
   Andrey Kulikov mentioned that it is not enough to use a computer for putting articles to Wikipedia. It is necessary to have conscience and the certain level of knowledge. He said that he saw many thoughtful and careful works at the competition. It is important not only to fill in the Ukrainian Wikipedia, one has to create articles about Ukraine, its history, culture, achievements in other Wikipedias. Andrey Kulikov added that one of the possible steps of "Wikimedia Ukraine " is supplying with quality articles in foreign languages. Ustin Matsev told his opinion that putting articles about charity in "Wikimedia Ukraine" makes clear and understandable for all citizens of our country what charity actually means. Now it is necessary to pass on to systematic work in this direction.
   Thus during the whole competition 159 articles were processed. 121 articles was accepted for estimation, 109 new and 12 essentially added. Creation and addition of articles carried out 34 authors, some of those registered intentionally in Wikipedia for participation in the competition "We write about charity". Total amount of the added information was more than 2 MB. By the end of the competition 135 articles were created or essentially added from 211 articles in the category "Charity" due to the competition. Thus competition enriched charitable topic in Ukrainian Wikipedia almost three times.
   Valentina Kodola became the winner with significant breakdown - 320,13 points. She won the main prize notebook and the diploma of the winner.
The main award was bestowed by the Chairman of the Supervisory board of Fund "Ukraine 3000" madam Katerina Yushchenko. She thanked for their work, mind, talent, civic mindedness and attitudes. Your work is necessary for millions of users. Madam Katerina said about the importance of such competitions as they push on people to turn to various subjects of public life. She added that there has to be as much as possible of information on museum and historical subjects in Wikipedia.
   Alexander Maksimchuk thanked to all who joined realization of this very interesting project and expressed his hope for continuing of cooperation of Association of philanthropists of Ukraine and "Wikimedia Ukraine".

Khersoners joined the All-Ukrainian charity project "Little Mam"

 

The project "Little Mother" is
part of the charity, which is carried out on a permanent basis members
Leadership Training Center Programs "Solutions and Prospects." The
project aims at equipping and opening of the first in Ukraine "shelter for
young mothers" who are planning to launch in 2011


The main task of the center-to do everything that
a young mother did not abandon the child and not only stayed with him, but
received with the necessary psychological and social support.


Hospice has been officially registered, have all
the supporting documents required number of qualified staff, which at any
moment ready to work with young mothers.


Now, in the final stage, it remains complete
internal renovation and purchase the necessary equipment - this is not enough
250 000 hryvnia.


Took up a project group of volunteers, which
included 27 people of different professions and social status, have started
raising funds to open it. Subscribed to this All-Ukrainian project and 2
Khersoners Irina Vanyunina and Ivan Zaichenko.


We call upon all citizens of Kherson region:
support the project and make a contribution to a charity program to raise funds
"Little Mam"! Give children a chance to stay with their mothers!
